This is off of my CA-1. There is some OD paint on the bracket under the yellow.

Bill,
That's excellent. I'm looking at one on ebay from a tractor that is fairly close. I'll have to see if the seller will furnish dimensions for me. It won't be exact, but perhaps close enough for now until I get a replacement which will be a while.

I finally found a suitable substitute for the Clark air cleaner. I have been looking for vintage tractor air cleaners on ebay. Quite a few show up and most do not fit the measurements that Bill posted above.
The ones which most closely match come from Case, Farmall and Minneapolis Moline tractors. The problem is that all the ebay sellers do not post any dimensions and it takes a few emails, calls and patience to find a good match. here is what I purchased for $20 after a 2-month search:
Minneapolis Moline 445 Air Cleaner Assembly 335 Jet Star 4 Star. All of the measurements are nearly exact to Bill's with the exception of the intake and output pipes. They are both 1 3/4". I think i can make that work. The other consideration is the mounting bracket on this one is sweated on. The "growth" on the upper pipe is a piece of rubber tubing inserted on the top.

I also found a suitable match for the mounting rings. There are: P04055 DONALDSON AIR CLEANER BRACKET and run $19. The dimensions are nearly perfect. The only difference that I can see is that the bracket to band attachments are spot welded with 2 tacks instead of 4 on the original.

The Minneapolis Moline 445 Air Cleaner Assembly 335 Jet Star 4 Star came in. It was a mess complete with cow poop, and a good portion of mud and oil. I did a preliminary cleaning, and checked the fit of the Donaldson brackets. Perfect match. Dimension wise the can is just under 12" tall from bottom to top of can where the pipe mates to it. The width is slightly smaller that what the Clark had (I think) at 4 1/4". The two intake/outlet pipes are only 1 3/4" OD. I think that's somewhat smaller than the CA-1 cleaner, but I am not quite sure. I can weld the correct outer diameter pipe to the top and it will look fine, or I can leave it at 1 3/4 provided I can find a suitable pre-cleaner at that diameter. I want it to look right, so I might add the pipe. I also have to remove the welded on bracket.

1 3/4" air pre cleaner on eBay item number: 290652463257

It would appear from the CA-1 manual that the pipe from the air cleaner to the carb was 1 1/2" OD, as part number CA-1048 is listed as 1 1/2" ID this is the rubber pipe from the air cleaner to the rigid pipe.

Bill, any chance off posting a drawing with dimensions of the plate that the air cleaner brackets fit onto??? I am missing this and the cross bars that this plate fix to. Having the dimensions would confirm the cross bars postions.

paul,
THis pre-cleaner has too large of a slope going to the bowl area. The slope needs to be more gentle. I am looking at a few right now, but the sellers have not responded with pipe dimension.

Bill,
Thanks for posting. I'm going by tomorrow to have a guy make me a mounting plate.
