thanks for the posting and your comments. One more thought from you is should I restore the ignition system back to 6 volt. right now they have a start and run switch which allows it to start with 12 volts yet still leaving everything else original to 6volts. just your thought on this. thanks Don

HI don are you running two batterys I know the starter is ok with 12 volts the coil is easy to change bulbs on the lights should also be easy a one wire gm alternater the amp meter and coil i am not sure I am tying to stay as close to original as I can
I know Jim Hall of vintage wiring of maine has a pattern for the clark air and he does great work

I am using just one battery. I have a switch for start which throws 12v to sart and then throwing the switch to run takes the 12v out so as not to damage. everything seems to work fine but I was debating whether to change back to the original set up. I know when we had the 6v battery it was hard to start in the cold but maybe with a deep cycle battery maybe it would perform better. Hey than ks for your reply and soon as I get this thing going I will send a picture. Right now looking for the battery box in the barn and maybe re doing canvas on the seat. thanks Don
