Hi all,

Nice to have a forum about the little CA1 here, shall try to make some contributions here, like posting pictures of a very original Clark, in original paint, unfortunatly not mine, but interesting to see.

Currently I own 4 Clarks, as most people know here, if you don't buy a complete one first time, you have to keep buying wrecks to make it complete!

3 of them are at my home in the Netherlands, where at least 3 or 4 were used in combat, will post the details later, the last one is (hopefully) still in GA, have many more vehicles and motorcycles, and a Converto trailer, that I thought usefull behind the Clark.

Glad to see you as part of the Clark team here. Welcome to the forum. I think I know which Clark you bought in GA. If it was the one in parts I recall seeing pictures of that one for sale a while ago. Are you working on getting that back to Holland?

Thanks for posting pics of the cargo information stencil from the ballast box. I was wondering what was to be stenciled there.

We all look forward to working with you as we all help each other build more Clarks.

There is a bit of glare in the photo with the stencils. Can you please type out what the stencil says? What is the height of the letters, 1"?

I can read most of the letters, but not the numbers.

Is it:

LGT. FT. IN.
WDT. FT. IN.
HT. FT. IN.
WT. LB.
TON GWT.

Oz, changed the picture, it's better readable now, height is 1" it reads almost as you wrote down, ecept the "G" is a"C" CWT stand for Centiweight, or hundredweight, more a Brit expression I believe?

The ballast boxes are cut away unfortunatly, so I don't know the actual dimensions, but can maybe made out from B/W photo's?
Will submit the data about the Clarks, asfar as I have it, but the one from France is 1943, and one from the UK also, looking at the engine number (dataplate was used for another restoration in a museum in Holland, will have to check it one of these days)

About the CA-1 in Georgia, I only need certain parts, like the dozerblade, hydraulic pump, and some more small stuff, the rest can be had for help, to anyone who can move it to a safe place! (OZ, it's only 2 numbers away from yours!)

Will add more stuff, where can I post pictures of an original paint Clark that was recently sold in PA (ex Frank Buck) ?? made lots of pictures of that one a while back. see here another marking on that one:

Have you looked into shipping costs for the parts in GA? If the seller is Austin, I have spoken to him. I called him about 6 months ago and he told me he had sold his parts Clark to a man in Europe. If you need help getting it home I may be able to help. I am close to him with a truck and trailer. (It does not float though ). I'm not sure what you need to do to import the parts to Europe and shipping costs etc.

Oz, the seller is Jason Green, on the east side of Atlanta, does that ring a bell?? (the Clark is yellow)

Anyway, it needs to go from there, so everything I do not need can be had for free, for moving it to a save place!

Let me know if we can work something out, have many pictures of the parts.

If I was retired, and had time, I would go get this and store it for you, Alex. But I cannot, sadly..

I wrote you about this.

As of this writing, I need NO parts whatsover.. What I DO need, however, is to BORROW a good battery box and cover, to "reverse Engineer" and make up a few for the rest of us unfortuantes without one.

If it has one, would you mind sending to me and I can draw up ,and send back?

I beleive I can benifit a number of us by measuring and drawing up for future reference.

Yes, I was getting to your mail, behind the computer all day!!

I don't think the GA Clark has the batterybox and cover, but if there is one you are welcome to copy it. I don't have one here at home either, so a copy would be nice!!

Meanwhile check out the pictures on the original paint Clark I posted this morning, there's some good shots there, can also email them direct to you.
