My CA-1 has an aftermarket 12v alternator. I don't like the way it looks and have been burning up the phone and email lines trying to come up with an alternative. The CA-1 parts manual lists a GBU4209 6v agenernator. No one seems to know what that is. I even have a WWII Autolite TM and there are no GBU series generators.

I called Harvey Brothers, and old establishment in IL who has a long family history of rebuilding old generators and starters. They do it old style. They could not find anything on the GBU either, but think they can put something together that would look the same, provide proper output and it would be an Autolite.
