Hi All -
We have a Clark CA-1 dozer. I kind of "inherited" this dozer. This was a toy my husband HAD to have (I'm sure a few of you can relate to this state) and finally he wore me down to agree to purchase it. A guy he worked with said it had been in his family for many, many years. Once my husband saw it, he fell in love with it and would not let up - had to have it. He bought it intending to use it on our farm. We didn't have that much work for it to do, but his main goal was to use it for small logging type jobs where he wouldn't damage the land very much by taking it in to smaller areas. This dozer has a winch, so he planned on using that to drag logs out to a place easier to cut them up for firewood. Anyway, he used it for about 2 years and enjoyed it each time - except for the seat, which he said was really hard on the butt! One of his "to do" items was to pad the seat area.
I've talked to a few people about owning this dozer, because now that I have it, I really have no use for it. The people I talked to know that my husband died for 15 minutes in 2007. When revived, it blew out his optic nerve, so he's pretty much blind now. And he has short term and immediate memory loss. He's not going to be playing with this particular toy any longer or we might lose him down the hill! There have been a lot of hospitalizations and this dozer has just sat under cover for all these years. Slowly, things are settling down around here (or we are just getting good at balancing the hospitalizations!) and I'm trying to get things cleaned up and those things not used anymore, sold.
So, if you are looking for a Clark Airbourne dozer, check the for sale area, because once I'm done here, I plan on posting it for sale.
I've learned a lot from everyone I've discussed this dozer with and am getting kind of fond of it. Everyone has been great in giving me the info I need to get it ready for sale. I appreciate it.
Thank you all. Dozers are not really my thing, so once this is sold I doubt I'll be back to the forum. But it's nothing personal:)
