I was thinking (dangerous I know)

Wouldnt it be nice to have a RESTORATION section on the forum?

A place to post pcitrues of the teardown and re-assembly? and all details in between?

Perhpas a "running" dialogue could be kept on anyone restoring a machine?

I am in that state now. That is, I guess I am restoring, or is it refurbishing.

I got a lot of photos I can post and details of what I am doing.

I will be doing a lot of metal work soon, to straighten bent and dented stuff, so that might be nice to have some sort of placeholder of sorts to show the work, detailed dimensional drawings for all to use(like Oz has been getting for us) etc

Dave,

Great idea. A new section has been started. Unfortunately I also have some reluctance to do so. If I may explain:

viewforum.php?f=29

The original reason to start this board was to bring CA-1 owners together from both the Military and Tractor hobbies. It would also be a place that you quickly research catagories on the specific area of your CA-1 that you were having quesitons about and get an answer. Unfortunately on all the boards I frequent the issue gets brought up and then gets diverted or hijacked on to some other related issue. The original intent gets lost and the question and answer end up in limbo.

I am to the age where I can remember I saw these answer to that but can't remember what board or what thread and with Google becoming advertising driven there is little chance of it coming up in the first 100 hits to a search.

On the other hand a "blog" (used losely) of the restoration by the owner of what you did and the problems you encountered and overcame or found a better way would be invaluable to all who restore these units.

Let us try the blog thing and see where it goes.

I would like you to start with a post in the section and then just keep replying to your own post there to keep a running thread of where your restoration is going.

Again Great idea!

Bill
