yea... I buy a machine thats running and working fine. I just cant leave well enough alone, can I?
Nope... Gotta "detail" it I tell myself.. Ill JUST take off a few pieces of sheetmetal, bang em' back into shape, maybe sandblast those few parts while they are off.
Hummmm.. Now that the fenders, sand boxes, etc is off, sure would be a good time to replace them lower H.P hoses.
Whats this? The gas tank could be cleaned, I see residue and fine sediment in the bowl. cant live with that now can we? .. Oh, thats gotta come off.
Buy a re-line kit.. yep, thats next. getting that tommorrow from a local distributor.
Might as well remove the radiator and flush it and clean it out too.. Radiator is off.
all hoses, wiring, generator, coil, distro, etc gotta come off, right? So I can access the engine and paint it proper like!
Oh.. what about that seat frame? And the winch cable? Thats gotta come off too. Otherwise, how can I get in them hard to reach nooks and crannies...
Oh boy! Look at all that nasty grease and accumulated gravel on the undercarriage from working.. Oh, a nice de-greasing and power washing is in order!
and on and on!!
She is all nice and clean now, devoid of all accessoriies, seat frame, tool box, and any items I could unbolt without attacking the main frame, tracks, engine and drivetrain.
all is disasembled to the point of where I can now give it a good paint job to reach areas otherwise un-reachable while in one peice.
THen I will add the new 226 dollar hydraulic lines. then get on the metal fabrication repair and straightening ,then take it all to the sandblaster!
Anyway, thought you would all get a chuckle out of this "simple" repaint turned resto!
see some updated pix taken tonight here:
first four were taken before removing all the engine accessorries.. last pix were all taken tonoight, after dark.
Ill keep taking pix of my progress
