joining the ranks with my Clark CA-1

Post by Jonesy »

After getting a lead for a restored Clark dozer possibly for sale in the US from a forum member, I made contact with him at the end of December. A price was agreed along with a Converto dump trailer and three months later it began the journey across the Atlantic.

It's a 1944 example and runs beautifully. There's a few small issues e.g. cracked manifold but nothing that can't be fixed fairly easily. Weirdly the dataplate hasn't got a date of manufacture stamped onto it. From comparing the serial numbers of other Clark, I believe it to be February 1944.
