(**SOLD AGAIN**) Clark CA-1 for sale in New Mexico

Post by 17thairborne »

I am in need of another vehicle reconfiguration. I have two nearly complete CA-1s and about 80% of another in parts. I want to get CA-1 No. 1 running and put some time into my WLA. Next will be to acquire a GPW to work on. In the meanwhile I am still building my own house, doing most of the work for myself, so my bucket is quite full.

I am letting the 3rd Clark go to a good home. Asking price is $4900 with a little wiggle room, that includes a spare main frame and a spare Waukesha FC engine (Type 182-same bore and stroke).

REG No.: 44 CA-1 SN 1441158, USA-9113112

DETAILS: The CA-1 has been sitting in a junk yard in OK for the last 12 years. It ran prior to that, but now does not. The tracks and drive train are not free wheeling. The engine is probably stuck as well. There is oil on the dip stick, but no sign of water. The main frame has been weld cut just by the sprockets. This is common as it helped to prevent mud build up by the sprocket. That is why I am adding an extra frame in VG condition. There is plenty of room on the idle adjustment screw to tighten track, so once everything is cleaned up you should have ample wear remaining. There is no Braden wench. The seat frame is partial and the tool box is rusted through mostly, but you should be able to make a simple replacement using the orig. as a pattern.Rubber Hyd lines are dry rotted. The RS piston frame has weld spots near the bottom. The original finish is clearly visible on many parts of the machine, most notable on the engine cover. The LS sand box still shows the stencil for GWT 4195. I retained the oil filter and pre-cleaner for No. 1's restoration, but I will add the one I fashioned for it. You can see it's photos in my G posts under the first CA-1 restoration. I have many other parts available, so if in the course of the restoration you need something else, we can work things out. 'Nuf said for now!

CONTACT: pm me for additional info and I can pass you my phone number at that time for a detailed discussion.

TERMS: Cash or Check, $500 down, rest on pick-up.

TRANSPORTATION: That will be up to you. I can arrange for a hoist to lift it onto your trailer at your expense. I can store it for up to a year if you need, but that will require 1/2 down.

The CA-1 has been sold. Thanks for everyone's support. I need to get back on track with my original project. Still working heavily on the house construction. Hope to post more soon.

Following the backed-out buyer, I opened the tranny case to have a look inside. It was dry with some surface rust. I sprayed it down with PB and added a good bit of oil for preservative. The teeth are nice and shiny with only a minor bit of rust as you can see.
