Clarkair CA-1 Discussion Board

I asked beachwood canvas if they ever made canvas seat covers for the Clark CA-1.

The response was "we have, but Ill have to re-quote based on todays pricing"

Well, I got the formal qoute today.

Basically, if I buy one set, its 599 dollars, and that includes all four (4) peices (seat cushion, rear back, and both sides I guess.)

thats a LOT more than I expected to pay. but it is what it is as they say.

Now, I also asked them to formally qoute for three sets.. And see what savings was possible if we were to do a group buy.

I got this quote, cut and pasted per as it was sent to me:

So, in a nut shell, should we all pool our money and buy three sets, we could save 100 dollars per set. Still, a sizable amount of cash for the three sets.

Anyone willing to get into a group buy on this?

Please advise. it appears as if there is a full cushion, with plywood and padding for the rear and sides?

I gotta ask to be sure. Will post what I get.

That seems like a lot for such a small amount of canvas. I realize there are several man hours into such a project, But $500 is a lot for three pieces of canvas, with a few snaps. Perhaps I am wrong about that. Does anyone else have any experiences with canvas? Perhaps i was naive in thinking $199 would have been fair.

did you ask a supplier somewhere on these peices?

No...i was simply applying my insight (could be way off) on what I have paid for stuff over the last 5 years. I was floored by the quote. Sorry!
